Since 2019, C5 has worked to EMPOWER the Charles City, VA community: to connect residents to sustainable and successful green jobs, to voice concerns to local policymakers and protect our community, and

to advance environmental justice.

Concerned Citizens of Charles City County, C5, was formed in June 2019.

C5 works to inform and educate county residents of issues facing the county.
This group was formed in response to the multiple power plants proposed
for the county--with limited involvement from residents. Two gas plants were proposed for the Roxbury Road corridor in Charles City County, VA. Thanks to the Charles City citizens and their allies, both projects have been cancelled.

Hosting our focus groups on water quality with Virginia Tech, planning and prioritizing for the year ahead at our second annual retreat, testing the water quality of Herring Creek, recruiting for Project BLACC.
